  1. The Wikipedia entry for Isaly’s Ice Cream mentions Isaly’s as the originator of chipped-chopped ham. I question this attribution. I believe the true origin of chipped-chop ham was the Lawson’s grocery chain in NE Ohio.

    • Hi Richard, I’ve never heard anyone but Isaly’s credited, but neither was it much of an “invention” since meat companies knew that it helped to thinly slice touch meat. About what year do you think Lawson’s started selling it?
